Sea, road and air freight clearance

One customs standard, adapted to the timetable and handover points of each transport mode.

SEA · ROAD · AIR

Practical overview

What a prepared movement looks like.

The core customs information may be similar across transport modes, but arrival messages, transport references, presentation requirements and release handovers are not identical. The clearance plan should follow the actual operational route.

01

Sea freight

Container and bill-of-lading references, vessel details, terminal status and carrier release all influence the handover. Pre-arrival preparation is particularly valuable where storage and equipment costs can accumulate.

02

Road freight

Road movements may involve short transit times, vehicle and trailer references, border presentation, transit procedures and tightly timed collection or delivery instructions. Drivers and transport operators need the correct references before arrival at the relevant control point.

03

Air freight

Air waybill information, flight timing, airport handling and rapid storage charging make early document availability important. The commercial and product file should be ready before the handling agent requests the clearance instruction.
